MEN WHO TAKE THE GLORY FROM GOD.

Image

GOD IS FINISHED WITH OUR REBELLIOUS DREAMING AND SCHEMING.

Korah's rebellion is a picture  of how near we are to destruction. A. Brother
JUDE "8 In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings.9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”[d]10 Yet these people slander whatever they do not understand, and the very things they do understand by instinct—as irrational animals do—will destroy them. 11 Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error;they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion." This passage in Jude, a little read New Testament book, is eye-popping in its application to us today. Read about Korah's rebellion in Numbers 16. Sounds like a Stephen Spielberg movie script. The entire chapter is devoted to telling us this story of men who whined an…

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU BUILD. GOD DOESN'T LIVE IN MAN-MADE STRUCTURES.

BE CAREFUL, THEN, HOW YOU BUILD A. Brother
“However, the Most High does not live in houses made by men.” Acts 7:48
“Let us, then, go to Him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace He bore.  For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the City that is to come.” Heb. 13:13,14
When God calls us out and away from the “camp”, in other words, the traditions of men, the cities built by men, the works and monuments to man’s energies and efforts to do things for God, we must go to Him.
When God reminds us, through Stephen, that God doesn’t dwell in any man-made thing, then we must either follow Christ, dying like Stephen did, or follow men, who are represented by the religious establishment, and who actually stoned Stephen and murdered him there in Jerusalem.
There is nothing we touch that we don’t try to alter.  Instead of laying all on the altar, we alter all God gives us.  In this play on words, we see the truth God has spent all history trying to give us.  We can’t do anything, or …

THE MOST DANGEROUS TRIALS ARE SUCCESS AND PROSPERITY.

Another word from our late brother T. Austin-Sparks, which "hits the nail on the head" once again, and helps us see clearly in Christ.  A. Brother
From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another. (John 1:16 NIV)
When the Lord has blessed and prospered, how many people have not themselves become something? Here is a successful movement! Here is my chance! There is a laying hold of that work, and a turning of it to personal account. That is the history of things. The most dangerous time for the work of God is the time of blessing. You will always find people coming in when there is blessing, not because they have God's end in view, but because a realm of blessing means personal good.... The Lord is calling us on to the fullness of Christ, and sometimes on the way He may let us see the working of His power, that He is with us. The world may be against us, the devil may be withstanding, and the Lord lets us see in some little way that He is with…

THE PERSECUTION INTENSIFIES AGAINST CHRISTIANS--RUSSIA AND CHINA.

All encouragement to our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in China and Russia.

You are once again experiencing the Prince of this world's hatred against Christ, and all who follow Him. You are being called on to suffer for the Lord Jesus, as your forefathers were during other periods of severe persecution in your countries.

All the signs have been present. Tighter and tighter laws and restrictions on gathering for worship, laws that forbid you to share your faith openly with others. Now, with the new laws, and the much greater restrictions even on home churches, you are all forced to depend completely on God the Father and His Son, who will see you through even the darkest days.  Many of you will be imprisoned, and some will suffer martyrdom for Christ. It is the path many of your spiritual forefathers walked.

I commend you to the Lord, and to His Spirit living with you, and pray that with all of us who follow Christ around the world, you would rejoice at being called to suffe…

HE WHO FINDS HIS LIFE WILL LOSE IT.

"Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."
Jesus Christ in Matt. 10:39

We have many who are finding their lives now.  Christians who have decided that NOW is more important to them than a future with Christ.  Many chase after security in the guise of preparedness.  Many chase after religious ecstasies in the guise of spiritual power.  Many chase after material blessings in the guise of God's will.

However, Christ is not fooled by this trickery.  He calls His true ones to a willing daily death.  Our lives are hidden with Christ in God.  We do not worry about this life, nor do we chase after the things of this world and love them and covet them.  We do not place our treasures in earthly vaults, or build to our own vanities.

Brothers and sisters, it is time to come out from among the pagans and be separate.  We may work with the lost, and eat with the lost, and love the lost, yet we may not be "of them" in the sense tha…

WHY GOD ALLOWS EVEN OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN TO SUFFER.

WHY GOD ALLOWS EVEN OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN TO SUFFER. A. Brother
May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love... that you may really come to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge without experience. (Ephesians 3:17,19 AMP)

How do we know someone loves us?
Because they tell us over and over that they love us? Or by experience?
It's by seeing that through our various difficulties, our failures, our life issues, this person sticks with us and acts in ways that show love. Because of experience, we know and deeply believe this person loves us. Like a parent loves a child, and like God loves us.
Does a good parent remove all possibility of suffering from their child's life? No. In order to do that, even if we had the wealth and power, we would have to take away all means of that child learning to stand on their own two feet, and to face the world in all its hardness and meanness without any back…

A TEACHER OR PREACHER WHO HAS NEVER SUFFERED WILL NEVER MINISTER LIFE.

THE WAY OF THE WINEPRESS T. Austin-Sparks
“We were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself.” 2 Corinthians 1:8 ESV
The Lord Jesus said "I am the true Vine," and it was prophesied of Him that He would tread the winepress alone. The Cross was His winepress. How He was pressed in the Cross!
He was crushed and broken, but out of that breaking has come the Life which you and I have, and which so many in all the nations have received.
That is true, in a measure, of His Church. It was out of the breaking and crushing of the Church that the Life came to the world.
And that is true of every member, every branch of the vine. If we are to fulfill this true, living ministry, it will only be through suffering, through the winepress, through pressure and through breaking.
Paul said: "We were pressed out of measure, above strength" (2 Corinthians 1:8 - A.V.) - but what Life has come out of that man's pressure! It is like that.
We are not talking about p…

ALL GOD'S PROMISES ARE FULFILLED IN CHRIST.

November 19
All of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” (2 Corinthians 1:20 NLT) What are the promises for? The promises were never intended to be a matter of personal pleasure, either in the case of Israel or in our case.... As the Lord's children we are often found in situations of personal embarrassment, personal difficulty, personal suffering, in a place where things for us are hard. At such times we are apt to take hold of some portion of the Word of God, and take that to the Lord and claim it for our deliverance. That may sometimes be all right, and yet if the motive should ever be definitely a purely personal one, we can take it for granted that the promise will have no fulfillment. How many have found that that is how it works. In a certain situation, by reason of some difficulty, trial, suffering, some adversity, you have gone to the Lord, taking His Word and pleading it before Him for a change of the situation, a deliverance, the bringing …

QUIT WORRYING ABOUT WHAT THE WORLD IS DOING. WHAT IS CHRIST DOING IN YOU?

Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you. (2 Timothy 1:14 NLT)

Today is a day for the Holy Spirit to teach you new things in Christ. About being in Christ, and having His power within you to conquer fear, enable you to do the Father's will, and live through you.
It is about Christ, not about you or me.
Abraham was a nomadic sheepherder in the ancient land. He had a family and household, including workers for his herds, but lived in tents, in a hot, dry, hard place. He was a tough, successful man in his day.
Yet God spoke to this old nomad, and called him to father a new nation. He was part of a great master plan God had devised from before the foundation of the world. He and his wife Sarah, who'd never yet borne a child, were to become parents together of a nation of God's chosen people, and his lineage would lead down to the Christ, who would save the world.
I can see and hear Abraham's dou…

NO RAM IN THE THICKET. TOTAL LOVE AND OBEDIENCE IS WHAT GOD REQUIRES.

NO RAM IN THE THICKET A. Brother ©2010-18 Narrowgate Publishing
“When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it.  He bound his son Isaac, and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.  Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.”  --Gen. 22:9,10
You must read this entire chapter to get the whole story.  But there is one point that is often missed.             Abraham didn’t know there would be a ram in the thicket.             Abraham was obedient to God in giving up what God had promised him…even when he had no thought that God would stop him.  The son whom God had promised Abraham would be the fulfillment of the promise to make a great nation was to be sacrificed to the One who had made the promise.              There was no avoidance.  No way out.              This son was not just a fulfillment of a promise in Abraham’s eyes.  This son was Isaac, his own flesh and blood, his beloved son.  He was …

WHY DOES GOD NOT DO WHAT WE THINK HE OUGHT TO BE DOING?

Dear Brothers and sisters in Christ: This is a teaching of great importance for today.  Please apply it to yourself in Christ. A.Brother
November 11
Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know Me and understand that I am the Lord. (Jeremiah 9:23,24 NLT)
Why does not the Lord do this and that, which we think He ought to do? It is simply this soul-craving to have proof and demonstration; and this is why, if there is anything built up in Christian work which is obvious, big, impressive, where there is a great thing being organized and a great movement on foot and all is in the realm of something that can be seen, crowds of Christians flock after it; or if there are manifestations, things that seem to be clear proofs, the crowds will be found there.
The enemy can carry away multitudes by imitation works of the Holy Ghost in the realm of demonstratio…
