Division is a product of man's fallen nature, and is Satan's basic nature.

Unfortunately, today we have much division among those who claim Christ, and who claim the name “Christian.”  Why is this?  There should be agreement.

“Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”  Amos 3:3

Our pattern to follow is laid out in Acts 2:42-47 and Acts 4:32-35, where the Lord shows us His desire for His people.  In Christ's Kingdom we are to be so focused on Jesus and His Father, and so in love with Him, that we don't need to fight and bicker and disagree on petty things.  When we truly know Christ, and He is our Lord, and we live in love and humility toward others, then we will fulfill the Scripture:  "All the believers were one in heart and mind."  Acts 4:32.

Wherever Christ goes in the world, He brings division, because He is the "stone the builders rejected" and many will reject Him.

However, among believers, we have our directive:  "I appeal to you brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought."  1 Cor. 1:10

Let's strive to spend our time talking about the things we agree on, which should be the things of Christ and of God, and not the things all the pagans worry over, like the world, the economy, the political upheaval, and this or that fine point of questionable doctrine.

We have Christ, and when He is our focus, our vision is 20/20.

Love in Christ,
A. Brother

  1. Those who claim the name of God are commanded in scriptures to love one another. The fact that this is not happening is a testimony to the displeasure of God and to the much sin abounding in the lives of proclaiming Christians. I am sickened by the proud, evil imaginations, presumptuously ignorant, accusatory "Christians", who are so sure that God is on their side! What a lot of briers and thorns! Their leaders are the worst!

  2. Amen, Robert. Thanks for your insightful comments. I pray the blessings of Christ will abound in your life today.

    Your brother,
    A. Brother
